DK Engineering is a Turkish startup founded in 2008 with a focus on energy production from waste. The company has concentrated on waste-to-energy conversion and has brought indigenous pyrolysis technology to Turkey's technological inventory. Its pioneering efforts include providing engineering services for the country's first licensed OTL (End-of-Life Tire) pyrolysis facility, which operates on a batch-fill-empty basis in Aksaray OSB. DK Engineering relocated its R&D activities to the Hacettepe University Technopolis in 2011, expanding its portfolio to include manufacturing and the ability to provide turnkey pyrolysis system installations, transforming from solely an engineering service provider to a full-fledged production infrastructure.
In 2014, the company completed the engineering and installation of Turkey's first continuous pyrolysis system at Sivas OSB, further cementing its position as the sole producer of continuous pyrolysis systems in the country. Notably, in 2016, DK Engineering established a subsidiary that converts paper pulp waste into liquid fuel, subsequently generating energy using this fuel, showcasing its commitment to sustainable practices. The facility, located in Gerede OSB, comprises a continuous pyrolysis system and a drying oven powered by the waste heat of the system, producing 1 MW/h of electricity without a license. The company operates within the energy and renewable energy sectors and is headquartered in Turkey.
