Diverse Manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance - DMSCA is a non-profit Supplier Development membership organization founded in 2009 and based in the United States. The organization aims to develop, create, and retain a value-added diverse Manufacturing and Logistical supply base capable of competitive engagement and demonstrable continuous performance improvement in strategically sourced global supply chains.
DMSCA's flagship program, the Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP), forms the core of the Community of Practice (CoP) that diverse Manufacturing and Logistics Suppliers and Corporate Members subscribe to.
The founder and president of DMSCA is David J. Burton, AICP, a native of Columbia, SC. The organization has a rich history, dating back to the development of a white paper by Burton in 2001, entitled "The Strategic Intervention of Minority Suppliers in the OEM Supply Chain." This paper laid the foundation for a supplier development pilot project funded through the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The operations of DMSCA are driven by six key market drivers, including the rapidly changing supply chain maturity, supply chain performance focus, and the need for suppliers to change competitiveness platform.
With its focus on supplier development and supply chain excellence, DMSCA presents an opportunity for potential investors to support and engage with an organization striving to drive positive change and value in the manufacturing and logistical supply base.
