Deutsches Pelletinstitut (DEPI)

Deutsches Pelletinstitut (DEPI) is a subsidiary of the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV), with headquarters in Berlin. The institute, supported by all member companies of the DEPV, serves as a communication platform and competence center focusing on the promotion of wood pellet heating.

DEPI plays a vital role in coordinating supra-regional measures and acts as a point of contact for policymakers, industry, and trade. Collaborating with scientific institutions, the institute aims to maintain public awareness and provide consumers with essential information.

Moreover, DEPI has significantly contributed to the training of over 1,500 "pellet specialists" since 2011, providing comprehensive advice on the installation of pellet heating systems. Additionally, in 2010, the institute developed the ENplus certification system for wood pellets, further establishing its commitment to quality standards in the industry.
