Deaf Spotlight is a creative incubator and curator of original stories by an underrepresented community. Founded in 2011 in the United States, the organization aims to inspire and showcase Deaf Culture and Sign Languages through the arts. Their work celebrates intersectional Deaf experiences on the stage, screen, and in every artistic realm.
The artists highlighted by Deaf Spotlight act as storytellers and historians, keeping the legacy of sign language alive and sharing it with the world. To advance the transformational narratives of Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing (DDBDDHH) artists, the organization provides opportunities and resources that allow them to create art on their own terms.
