Dallas CASA is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers to advocate for abused children in foster care. The organization aims to provide powerful voices for nearly 1,000 child victims removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect and placed into the protective care of the state. Judges appoint Dallas CASA volunteers to advocate for the best interests of these children, helping them find safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. The organization has a strong and steady history, serving 3,374 children in 2020 and recruiting and training 472 new volunteer advocates that year, increasing the number of active CASA volunteer advocates to more than 1,500. Since its founding in 1979, Dallas CASA has helped thousands of children find safe, permanent homes and is a charter member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association and of Texas CASA. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit social service agency, Dallas CASA continues to play a critical role in breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect, with more than 68,000 advocates serving in nearly 1,000 state and local program offices nationwide.
