CTtransit

CTtransit is the second largest transit system in New England, catering to the public transportation needs of Connecticut. With a team of 1,250 employees and a fleet of 520 buses, CTtransit annually serves approximately 20 million riders across its Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford markets. Acquired by the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Public Transportation in 1976, CTtransit has continuously expanded its operations, extending its services to more than 60 cities and towns in Connecticut and the neighboring state of New York. The recent four-year contract awarded to RATP Dev USA for the management of its key divisions signifies a significant milestone. The partnership between CTDOT and CTtransit has led to notable advancements, such as the introduction of the CTfastrak regional bus rapid transit system, a clear indication of the company's commitment to improving public transportation efficiency.
