CPclin - Centro De Pesquisas Clínicas is a research center founded in 2003 that has its origins in the clinical research activities initiated by its current clinical director in the metabolic diseases outpatient clinic of Heliópolis Hospital in 1992. The organization was established at a time when there was no specific national regulation for clinical research in Brazil. Over time, with the regulation of the activity in 1996 and the creation of research ethics committees (CEPs), Brazil began to increasingly engage in the realm of clinical research.
As the number of projects at the outpatient clinic grew, a cooperation agreement was proposed with the Heliópolis hospital complex. This involved the hospital being responsible for overseeing the research and providing support for serious adverse events, with the actual research conducted in the director's private clinic at no cost to the hospital. In return, a portion of each project's budget would be donated to the hospital. This was the beginning of research at the Dr. Freddy Goldberg Eliaschewitz S/C Ltda clinic.
In 2005, the research activities had expanded to a point where they could no longer be accommodated alongside the clinical activities. During that time, CPCLIN was established as a separate legal entity from the private clinic of Freddy Goldberg Eliaschewitz. The organization operates in the Analytics and Health Care industries.
