CoWare, a leading global supplier of electronic system virtualization software and services, was founded in 1996 and focused on cyber security. The company aimed to help IP, semiconductor, and electronics companies design better processor- and software-intensive products faster. Their solutions addressed new design challenges associated with platform architecture design, verification, application sub-system design, processor design, DSP algorithm design, and software development, based on open industry standards including SystemC. The company's last investment was a bold $7.00M Series F round on 20 July 2007, with funding from Greylock Partners, GIMV, and Cadence Design Systems. Unfortunately, CoWare ceased to exist as of 1 April 2010.
