Coptic Orphans is an international Christian development organization that has been operating since 1988 with the goal of transforming the lives of fatherless children in Egypt. The organization focuses on providing education and long-term programs to break the cycle of poverty. Contrary to common perceptions, their efforts are not limited to children without families; instead, they target children from families where the widowed mothers struggle to provide for them, considering it as an injustice. By utilizing child sponsors, a network of over 850 volunteers, as well as collaborating with churches and organizations, Coptic Orphans ensures that the children stay in school and with their families. The organization also commits to supporting the children until the completion of their highest education, provided that they actively participate in educational opportunities. Their vision involves a peaceful, prosperous Egypt where children can thrive and an engaged Diaspora. Currently, the organization operates with a team of over 150 professionals, based in headquarters near Washington, D.C., as well as offices in Egypt, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
