Community Arts Stabilization Trust

The Community Arts Stabilization Trust (CAST) is a real estate organization striving to ensure long-term affordable solutions for artists and arts and culture organizations in the Bay Area. It aims to create inclusive spaces for creative and cultural expression by employing innovative real estate financing tools and models. Founded in 2013, CAST has acquired and opened four arts buildings in central San Francisco and has received significant support from philanthropic, private, and public sectors. Its efforts have been recognized by notable institutions and have garnered a Seed Round investment from The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation in January 2017. This initiative stands out as a promising model for creative placekeeping, as evidenced by its endorsement in publications by the World Cities Culture Forum, LISC, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
