Class Act Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit cooperative that was established in 1954 to address the personal finance needs of JCPS teachers and other school employees. Initially founded by a small group of JCPS teachers, the credit union aimed to provide loans and credit at competitive rates, filling a significant gap in the market at that time. Over the years, it expanded its services to encompass all public school employees in the Metro Louisville area, as well as staff from numerous private schools. In 1994, Class Act’s field of membership was extended with the merger with the University of Louisville Student & Alumni Credit Union, incorporating the University of Louisville into its community. Today, the credit union remains committed to its mission of serving the local educational community's personal finance needs as a member-owned cooperative. Despite the considerable changes in the banking industry, its focus on the best interests of its member-owners remains unwavering. The slogan "Drop Your Bank. Join The Movement." illustrates its mission to encourage individuals to shift from traditional banking to the cooperative model for their financial needs.
