Circular Wave Drive (CWD) is a startup dedicated to "Driving robotic automation." Founded in 2014 in the United States, CWD has developed a unique, patented speed reducing technology. This innovation drastically improves torque, lowers weight, and lengthens the longevity of the most critical component in robots used in manufacturing, warehouse & logistics, and agriculture. The company addresses the problem of speed reducers, which make up more than 1/3rd of the total cost of industrial robots and typically need replacement every 2 years. The invention features high precision and low backlash, as well as being low-cost in both materials and fabrication. Dr. Zheng, the inventor, holds the distinction of inventing the 1st Humanoid (Biped) Robot. CWD's industries of focus include Medical Devices, Robotics, and Space. The startup recently secured a Seed Round investment from Monte Carlo Capital on 01 December 2021.
