CIC Tucson
CIC Tucson is a Tucson-based nonprofit dedicated to creating equitable access to the economy, with a focus on housing, entrepreneurship, and education. Established in 1996, the Community Investment Corporation (CIC) aims to empower the residents of Pima County and the surrounding area by providing them with the knowledge and financing necessary to pursue new opportunities and become active participants in the economy.
Committed to expanding economic opportunities, CIC pursues three distinct program areas:
HOUSING: The organization assists aspiring homeowners through tax credits and down payment assistance. ENTREPRENEURSHIP: CIC provides much-needed financing to small businesses and nonprofits, and introduces innovative systems to promote private investment in early-stage businesses. EDUCATION: CIC helps schools with access to capital, bond compliance, and family engagement. The latest investment in CIC Tucson was a $300.00K grant received on November 9, 2023, from the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration.
CIC's mission is to promote economic inclusion for all members of southern Arizona, irrespective of their socioeconomic status, by leveraging financial and knowledge capital into areas of the local economy where access expansion is desperately needed. The organization works towards enabling more individuals in the community to purchase homes, access desired education for their children, and obtain the funding necessary to start, sustain, and grow small businesses.
The guiding principle of CIC is that nobody with the desire and diligence to participate in the economy should ever be left on the outside looking in.
