Central Health

Central Health is a public hospital district founded in 2004 with a mission to provide high-quality, equitable care for low-income residents of Travis County. With a focus on improving health and reducing inequities, the organization is guided by a Healthcare Equity Plan adopted in early 2022. This plan outlines four strategic imperatives: Access & Capacity, Care Coordination, Member Engagement, and System of Care. Additionally, the district operates within a fiscally responsible and transparent framework, acknowledging its indebtedness to taxpayers of Travis County, who fund the majority of its budget. As a separate political subdivision of the State of Texas, Central Health is dedicated to improving the health of the community and empowering individuals through a better healthcare system.
