The organization's services encompass a range of activities, including bioethics education for clinicians and students, ethics consultation services, guidance in response to calls from individuals to policy leaders, leading the KC Regional Ethics Committee Consortium, presenting community lectures and symposia, and publishing and archiving a Bioethics Library of 4,000 items, which receives 750,000 pageviews/year. The Center is also making a significant impact by helping thousands each year to prepare for the uncertainties of advancing illness and make their end-of-life wishes known through advance care planning. Additionally, the organization is building coalitions and training providers across Missouri and Kansas in the adoption of a form that translates patient goals of care into physician orders that follow the patient.
