Carrier Sekani Family Services

Carrier Sekani Family Services is a Canadian non-profit organization founded in 1990 with a mission to improve the social well-being and health issues of the Carrier and Sekani people. Originally established as Northern Native Family Services, the organization later rebranded to Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS). CSFS has been making significant strides in providing social welfare supports, legal guidance, and research to Indigenous people living in remote and urban areas in Northern BC’s central region.

With a recent $625.00K grant investment from Women and Gender Equality Canada in September 2023, CSFS has been able to expand its impact. Currently, CSFS employs over 280 skilled staff members across multiple locations in Canada, including Prince George, Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, and Burns Lake. This growth reflects its dedication to providing community-based programs and its commitment to upholding Carrier and Sekani values, beliefs, and philosophies.

As a leading organization in the field, CSFS continues to prioritize the development and delivery of community-based programs to address the increasing service needs in child welfare, social, health, and legal programs for the Carrier and Sekani people. With its strong foundation and progressive approach, CSFS stands as a forerunner in its industry, embodying its slogan of "Creating Wellness Together."
