Buhle Farmers' Academy

Buhle Farmers' Academy, an NPO based in South Africa, has been dedicated to empowering new farmers through quality, accredited practical training since its establishment in 2000. With a mission to address food security and create livelihoods, Buhle has steadily expanded its impact, now operating two training academies in Delmas, Mpumalanga, and Mkhondo (Piet Retief), KwaZulu-Natal. Their model, developed by experts in agricultural development, has proven successful, with a record 517 students trained last year and over 4500 new farmers graduated to date.

Notably, their graduates contribute to job creation in rural areas by employing others on their farms, aligning with the goal to bolster employment in the country. The most recent Venture Round investment in January 2020 came from E Squared Investments, signaling continued support for Buhle's impactful work. As they look ahead to further expansion, acknowledging the crucial role of their partners and supporters, Buhle Farmers' Academy continues to be a key player in driving positive change within the agriculture sector in South Africa.
