Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad is a trailblazer in the natural gas industry, established in 1969 as the first LNG project in Asia and currently the longest running LNG plant globally. Operating in the Oil and Gas as well as Logistics and Delivery industries, Brunei LNG has set numerous benchmarks and is a leading supplier of natural gas.
A joint venture company, Brunei LNG is owned by the Brunei Government (50%), Shell Overseas Holdings (25%), and Diamond Tenaga Investment B.V (25%). The company is situated in Lumut on the North West Coast of the Borneo Island, facing the South China Sea.
Boasting 5 steam-driven liquefaction trains with an annual capacity of 7.2 million tonnes of LNG, most of its feed gas is supplied by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. and the Block B Joint Venture, with the majority of its LNG being shipped to buyers in Japan.
With approximately 600 employees, Brunei LNG is a well-established and dynamic business, characterized by an exciting and vibrant working environment. In 2006, the company set a record in LNG delivery. Brunei LNG is currently engaged in extending the plant’s life through rejuvenation and refurbishment to ensure reliability and productivity for the coming decades.
