Brimrose is a Research and Development company that specializes in manufacturing NIR Spectrometers, Acousto Optics, and Hyperspectral Imagers. Founded in 1980 by Dr. Ronald Rosemeier after receiving several Small Business Infrared Research Grants (SBIRs), Brimrose consists of two companies: Brimrose Corporation of America (BCA) and Brimrose Technology Corporation (BTC). BCA is responsible for designing, manufacturing, and custom building Acousto-Optic Components, Near Infrared (NIR) Spectrometers, and Hyperspectral Imagers, while BTC serves as the Research and Development branch that transforms cutting edge technology into commercial products. In 1989, Brimrose developed its proprietary version of Acoustic-Optic Tunable Filters (AOTF), which has since become integral to Brimrose NIR Spectrometers and Hyperspectral Imagers. This technology allows for precise and rapid adjustment of the wavelength and intensity of diffracted/filtered light, making it suitable for real-time industrial process analysis. Brimrose has successfully commercialized products for major pharmaceutical, food, and agriculture companies since the mid-2000s, with applications in chemical, polymer, and petrochemical industries. Headquartered in the United States, both BCA and BTC remain committed to innovation, improvement, and marketing of new and existing technology.
