Boston Housing Authority

Boston Housing Authority (BHA) is the largest landlord in Boston and the largest public housing authority in New England, housing approximately 10 percent of the city's residents through its programs. In addition to conventional public housing, BHA administers several rental assistance programs including the federal Section 8 Voucher Program and the state-funded Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program. This makes BHA one of the top ten largest housing authorities in the nation. Founded in 1935, BHA's mission is to provide stable, quality affordable housing for low and moderate-income persons, deliver services with integrity and mutual accountability, and create living environments that serve as catalysts for transforming dependency to economic self-sufficiency.
