Bless China International (BCI) is a non-profit organization based in China, founded in 1994 by Dr. Rob Cheeley, an American physician, and Dr. Lai Yong Tan of Singapore. The organization's primary focus is on equipping local individuals to effectively serve their communities. BCI operates in collaboration with various local governmental entities such as the Bureaus of Health, Civil Affairs, AIDS Prevention, the Disabled Federation, Center for Disease Control, hospitals, and educational institutions. This cooperation allows BCI to accomplish its work, which includes medical/dental services, rehabilitation, micro-enterprise and business development, orphan and foster care, community development, HIV/AIDS prevention/care, and leprosy. The organization has expanded its reach across Yunnan province and supports local leaders in spearheading their own projects. BCI is a registered 501c3 NGO in the US and prides itself on developing local leaders and addressing community needs strategically.
