BiotaTec - Next Gen BioMining Centre is a pioneering company focused on upscaling novel low-energy tech for extracting the critical metals crucial for the Energy Transition from low-grade wastes. As a recipient of the EIC Green Deal grant 2020, BiotaTec has been recognized for developing cost-efficient rapid solutions using next-generation biomining technology. The company targets all valuable metals trapped in low-grade ores, waste, and tailings. Through extensive adaption tests with micro-organisms, BiotaTec has acquired the expertise to adjust different microbial teams in various conditions, paving the way for creating the next generation biomining solution for any metals containing stream. This proprietary technology offers a puzzle-like approach fully tailored for creating value from specific streams of tailings, wastes, and ores in the mining/metallurgy/recycling industries. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Estonia, BiotaTec secured a €50.00K grant investment on 01 June 2017 from the EASME - EU Executive Agency for SMEs.
