BFW Bundesverband Freier Immobilien- und Wohnungsunternehmen e.V. is a leading representative of medium-sized real estate companies, comprising approximately 1,600 member firms. With a focus on "development, construction, preservation," BFW covers the entire value chain of the real estate industry. Its member companies account for 50% of residential and 30% of commercial construction in Germany.
The federal association and its eight regional branches work in close coordination to ensure unified strength across all political levels. As the top association for medium-sized real estate businesses, BFW is regularly consulted by the Bundestag and state parliaments in legislation relevant to the industry.
