(Bapco) is a pioneering organization with a remarkable legacy, having made the first oil discovery in the Arabian peninsula in 1932 and subsequently commenced crude oil exports in 1934. Notably, it established the region’s first crude oil refinery in 1936. Over its 85-year history, Bapco has contributed significantly to the development of the Kingdom of Bahrain, both economically and socially, serving as an incubator for leadership talent in the region. The company has a broad impact on Bahraini society and continues to shape the country's future through its initiatives in the downstream sector and oil and gas field development. One of Bapco's recent milestones is the commencement of a multi-billion dollar expansion project aimed at enhancing the refinery’s capacity, employing the latest refining technology, meeting future customer demands, complying with environmental regulations, and creating new employment opportunities. Bapco is deeply involved in various aspects of the oil industry, including refining and distribution of petroleum products, as well as sales and exports of crude oil and refined products.
