Australian Travel Industry Association

Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) is the peak body for Australia's travel businesses, representing over 80% of all travel distributors and tour operators in Australia. With a history dating back to 1957 as the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA), the association rebranded to ATIA on August 15, 2023, aiming to better reflect the diverse travel community. The organization champions Australian ATAS travel businesses employing more than 25,000 people, working to connect Australians to the world. One of its key initiatives is managing the Australian Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS), established in 2014, which serves as the industry standard for all travel businesses. By upholding the interests of travel agents and their business, ATIA plays a vital role in Australia's specialized travel and tourism industry.
