The company initially acquired 18 Long John Silver's restaurants across Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana, and subsequently expanded its portfolio by adding 8 more locations in Texas and Oklahoma in 2006. With a strategic vision, Apex aggressively expanded its presence by acquiring 44 additional LJS/LAW restaurants in North Texas and the Tulsa/Oklahoma City markets by 2008, establishing themselves as one of the nation's largest LJS franchisees. The company further solidified its position in the market by acquiring 54 KFC multi-brand restaurants in the Dallas metro area in 2010, followed by the acquisition of 35 KFC multi-brand restaurants in the Chicago metro area in 2011.
