Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) is a nonprofit, civilian education organization founded in 1946. The association's primary mission includes promoting the dominant U.S. Air and Space Forces as the cornerstone of a strong National Defense, while also providing support to Airmen, Space Force Professionals, and their families. AFA achieves this by educating the public on the critical need for unparalleled aerospace power and a technically superior workforce, advocating for aerospace power, and promoting aerospace and STEM education and professional development.
AFA is also home to the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, the nation's sole think tank dedicated to advancing U.S. air and space power. It is the publisher of Air Force Magazine and AirForceMag.com, offering premier news and information covering the Air Force and Space Force. Additionally, it hosts national professional development conferences, including the annual Air, Space & Cyber Conference and Air Warfare Symposium.
The association reinforces aerospace education through several programs such as CyberPatriot, a global cyber education initiative, and StellarXplorers, an emerging space-based education program. Furthermore, it provides various awards, scholarships, and grant programs for Air Force active duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve members, their families, as well as science, technology, engineering, and math educators at the elementary and secondary school level.
AFA's activities are mainly centered on the education industry. For further information, visit www.afa.org.
