AgroSfer is an impact agtech startup with the slogan "Building sustainable supply chains in African agriculture sectors". Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Benin, the company is focused on facilitating the sustainable and traceable supply of agricultural raw materials in Africa. They aim to make agriculture an engine for sustainable development in rural Africa by building high-performance, eco-responsible agricultural value chains around farmers and their cooperatives.
Their approach involves strengthening the coordination of African agricultural cooperatives to converge farmers' production capacities and offer greater volume and quality. Additionally, they create direct collaborations between manufacturers and farmers to give them visibility and control over the supply of products that meet market requirements, including conformity, traceability, and certification.
AgroSfer leverages technology with solutions tailored to specific contexts, offering a decision-making tool for digitizing production monitoring and evaluation, a physical one-stop-shop for farming facilitation and livelihood improvement services, and a digital marketplace for cooperatives and food processors to connect.
Having already supported over 30,000 African farmers across Benin, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, and Congo, AgroSfer's ambition is to have 2 million farmers beneficiaries by the end of 2030. Their last investment, a Non Equity Assistance, was received on 01 February 2022 from Scaling digital Agriculture Innovations through Start-ups (SAIS).
