A Second Chance, Inc.

A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994, committed to providing a secure and nurturing environment for children in kinship care. Operating primarily in Allegheny County, Pa., with additional contracts in neighboring counties, ASCI collaborates closely with the Department of Human Services to offer a wide range of services to families and youth. The organization's culturally competent approach to kinship care is recognized nationally by esteemed institutions including the Urban Institute, Children's Defense Fund, Casey Family Programs, and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. ASCI's impact is apparent through its daily service to approximately 1,800 children and members of the triad, as well as its historical support for over 27,000 children, 9,600 kinship caregivers, and 30,000 birth parents. This significant reach contributes to ASCI's standing as a leader in the fostering and support of kinship care, with distinct relevance to the broader Care Economy, Health Care, Health and Wellness, and Social Media industries.
